So it looks like residents have been given their keys - have seen people on various levels unpacking their furniture and wrestling with their allen keys over the past two days.
Is it time to mark this one as completed?

I think it's fair to say the render on this was pretty close to what we ended up with.

Also fair to say this is one of the very rare occasions where the real thing looks better then the render.

I haven't followed the construction of this one much, but I did I notice the greyish colour you are talking about when viewed form the Morphett Street Bridge the other day. Admittedly it was a pretty dull and gloomy day, but I guess I was thinking the colour of this building would look a bit more like the Quest hotel at the South end of King William Street.

Interesting bit of this article (aside from using a render for the picture when the real thing already exists) is the bit at the end about another development by CAPD. Anyone know if this is one of the already known proposals they are referring to? Or just spruiking themselves since Vision itself seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to reach building stage and then a long time (seemingly) to actually be built?

It looks like two mature trees are missing - were they there to begin with?phenom wrote:I think it's fair to say the render on this was pretty close to what we ended up with.

Yes, those two frees out front disappeared during construction. They are visible in google streetview if you go back in time.

Official opening of Vision was on the news last night, and they mentioned a site on/near Franklin St, but gave no details.phenom wrote:

Maybe the Wilson carpark that housed the Vision display centre?

So they've finally finished the building, 3 years after they first started.
Surely the construction company would be hurting from this development given that it should have taken
2 years at the most.

I just did some research on the 88 Construction / YTO construction.
Their website doesn't work, I would think they're probably not in business anymore.

The attached link says their site is 'under construction'. With their record we'll be waiting a whileghs wrote:I just did some research on the 88 Construction / YTO construction.

I thinks it's fare to say the finished product looks better than the render.
