Can you imagine sitting in Ibiza, watching the people in rundle st respond to your input from your PDA on the dance floor?
the mind boggles. and it is so easy, I say, just keep the doors open at this stage.
If there was a possibility of a web interface being built for the display, myself and my fellow programmer colleagues wouldn't mind building the web application to run it.

See dbsa's post 5 above yours.

I must admit, when I first saw the renders of this proposal, I was a bit sceptical as to how it'll look. That YouTube video has convinced me. I can't wait to see the whole thing up and running.
I remember reading a rumour about a similar concept on the canopy over Rundle Mall.

The interior of the store is getting revamped or will be getting revamped for sure, don't know about the exterior.

Thanks for the pictures mate! I dare say more could have been done with it's replacement. Especially for such a prominent intersection.

Nonsense! Copying the delightful Hungry Jack's carpark across the road was a brilliant idea!

After going into Rundle Street this evening and taking a closer look at the Rundle Lantern Project and the software + previews of the completed product I am very impressed. At first I was a little sceptical, I mean, some panels with coloured lights looks nice but is it really worth all the hype? Well after today, I believe it is. It's about time Adelaide had something sensational (no punt intended), modern and vibrant. It's nice to let the rest of Australia know from time to time that Adelaide really isn't just a giant retirement home. I was also very excited to learn that the RLP has full motion video capability. Yes, that's right, its possible to watch Movie clips, commercials and music video's.
some quick Sony Ericsson k800i snap shots.

Not sure if this has been brought up, but why the hell is there a Target in the CBD?!! Especially in the middle of a major intersection. If they want a Target store, hide it away in a mall at least and replace the existing site with something much more deserving of such a location.

Just got back from the prototype test tonight... and got to meet the guys from Fusion - all of them top blokes i've got to add.
It was very exciting having a chat with the guys about the prototype, our website, their previous work, the possibilities for the future, and the technical side of things. And once again thank you Fabian for your demonstration of how the Hippo software works. If there was any doubt in my mind about this project, this demonstration has well and truly blown me away. I can't believe this is from a 4x3 panel, I really can't wait for the whole thing to go up. Fabian was saying how this would be the largest of it's kind in the country, it would definately be a landmark when finished. Something we could all be proud of.
Shortly after I arrived, we bumped into Michael Harbison. It was great to see our Lord Mayor working so hard for our city, especially in an election week.... i'm confident that everyone here is wishing the Lord Mayor success this coming weekend.
Okay, onto the photospam and videos.
Here's the brains behind the whole operation. A Hippoizer server running the Hippo software, connected to an Ipod video for full motion video (yes it does actually do FMV!).
Also Fabian had printouts of our 3D Sketchup Model pictured here! hehe.
Our friends from Fusion, my short ugly mug, and the Lord Mayor.

Top work all round guys, you should be congratulated for a successful night.
