Qantas should un-consider Singapore.
It's already well served by SIA, and with Malaysian serving nearby Kuala Lumpur, QF will have their work cut out. Plus, unless QF provide something to match SIA's planes...and schedules, they are wasting their time.
It's almost like Qantas really don't want anything to do with Adelaide, so they're trying something they know won't work, so that they can say they tried. Then they can go back to Sydney and Melbourne where their real interest is.
Now, if QF were to fly somewhere new to put the hard yards into developing a new market, that would be a very welcome development. India, Thailand, the Phillipines, Vietnam, all would be new-ish markets and benefit South Australia. That I could get behind. This would be a great thing for QF to do.
But if QF are just trying to use their 'reputation' to slice a bit of traffic from an already developed route, they should be ashamed...and just not waste our time. In this case, just make sure the Adelaide to Darwin flights of JQ and QF mesh with JQ and QF flights from Darwin to Singapore and Bali. People who want to fly Qantas then can, and the rest of us need not be bothered.
