If you guys keep flying Singapore Airlines you'll get a surprise. Double daily by year's end or early 2026. And wouldn't that be great an airline that has been serving SA for 40 years and haven't given up.
Exactly, while others cut and run, even for a short time, Singapore stayed. Our state really should be doing far more business with Singapore in general, it's a great place.
They have some mega wealth funds that invest in infrastructure and other things, massively missed opportunity to attract some serious international capital into SA.

Hopes for new direct flights from Adelaide to Bali on Indonesia AirAsia
South Aussies could soon be able to escape the winter blues for less thanks to talks between Adelaide Airport and a new airline that could spark a huge price war.

There may be more options for South Australians to fly to Bali this coming winter thanks to talks with a new airline.

Discussions are under way between Adelaide Airport and Indonesia AirAsia for direct flights between Denpasar and Adelaide four times a week from late June, reportedly.

There are hopes it could spark a fare war between AirAsia and Jetstar, which currently is the only airline with direct flights to the island paradise.

Virgin suspended its direct flights from Adelaide to Bali last year.

It is understood the paperwork between Adelaide Airport and AirAsia is yet to be signed off, according to 7News Adelaide.

In December, Jetstar announced it was set to offer thousands of cheaper fares and hundreds of new direct flights between Adelaide and Bali next year.

Between late March and October, Jetstar will add more than 55,000 low-cost tickets, and an additional 240 direct flights to their schedule.

Jetstar executive manager Jenn Armor said it was a good time for travellers to plan ahead as the route would be in high demand.

“Bali is as popular as ever for South Australians looking for an affordable and convenient escape,” she said.

regarding airasia, someone had already updated wikipedia, using this website as a reference.
Indonesia AirAsia during Northern summer 2025 season schedules additional service to Australia, with the scheduling of Denpasar – Adelaide route. From 27JUN25, Airbus A320 aircraft to serve this route 4 times weekly.

QZ420 DPS2345 – 0625+1ADL 320 x246
QZ421 ADL0705 – 1055DPS 320 x357
AirAsia also fly to Phuket, Hong Kong, Singapore, KL and Bangkok from Denpasar so it could open up some interesting connections depending on timing.

Apparently they have either changed their mind, or jumped the gun and published the timetable before they were ready:

Why couldn't AirAsia do a Adelaide - Hong Kong service? I reckon that would be well received.

Aircraft availibility. They have a limited number of planes that can do that trip. Plus they can fill those planes more on busier routes then Adelaide>Hong Kong.

All about economics.

perspective

Adelaide isn't a hub destination and Hong Kong isn't in its region

All Air Asia flights would return to their hubs in Bali, Kuala Lumper and Bangkok, they don't have an Air Asia based in Hong Kong. Thai Air Asia X has shrunk their A330 flying.

Adelaide Airport appears to have a new carpark, based on their parking booking engine. P2 behind the covered carpark (which I guess is P1 now).

Compelted about four months ago, wasn't aware this was available to the public. I wonder if this is to service the eventual commercial office precinct to go in this area or whether it's temporary until that commences construction.
