It'll be good to have a proper sized bookstore back. The new QBD books is pretty underwhelming.

Upper level of Regents Arcade is a little out of the way, wonder how they'll make it so people know it's there.
The current location in the Myer Centre is a bit out of the way, and it still has good patronage. I have no doubt the Regent Arcade location will do well.

Hopefully the new store will feature a cafe like their store in Sydney.

Judging by the scaffolding that's going up it looks like the re-cladding job on the Myer Centre might be a more extensive job than just the first couple of levels fronting Rundle Mall. Am keeping my fingers crossed...

Speaking of the Myer Centre.. Looks like the Unqlio fitout has commenced, with the ground floor frontage all boarded up including the SW entrance.

Re cladding I’d the Myer centre? Will it be in the same colours and materials or is this going to be a total change?

That rebel sport refurb is an atrocity.

No idea - if you look a few pages back there was a development application posted above some re cladding but it didn't give any details. It was presumed at the time it might just be a fire safety thing affecting the bottom couple of floors which have the more recent cladding but looks like it might be more extensive than that. You'd hope that they'd choose a different colour scheme over what's already there...

I suspect they're just replacing in the same colour, as was done to the building's western elevation a few years ago.

I’d much rather the grey than the yellow so here’s hoping

Great outcome with Dymocks going in L2 of Regent Arcade. Wish Rebel had painted the entire facade grey.

Surprised Zara never wanted a city presence in Adelaide - always thought a good option would be take up Sussan/Ted Baker store fronts and take up the entire front half of the 1st floor now that it's empty. Idea below:

None the less, Rundle Mall coming along nicely especially after the pandemic will be home to most big name brands by end of 2022.

Anyone heard anything on any luxury brands that any developers/landlords would be trying to target? The luxury market is booming with people spending more on the likes of Gucci/LV/SL/Fendi etc. and I know a lot of people spending on these brands interstate and online - definitely a market here for it.
I work in Rundle Place and have noticed that they’ve been cleaning the space. Was talking with one of the security guards who confirmed with me that they’ve been showing prospective tenants through the space but he wasn’t able to say too much else as of yet. Will keep you all updated if I do hear anything though!

Zara would really be perfect for this space.

Zara’s had its eye on the current Woolworths Rundle Mall spot for a while and Woolworths has been looking for a new CBD location. I wouldn’t be surprised if Woolies went to the new Charter Hall development on King William St and Zara moved in.
