Recently in Melbourne and there were over 40 cranes in sight from the Rialto tower, several sites had up to 4 cranes. I was in Sydney a month or two before that and there were only three on four, Given Adelaide’s population we are doing very well.

Melbourne also has 4 times the population. If you divide the amount of buildings in the various stages of development in Melbourne by 4, I think you will find that we have more.

Thanks for the photo.
Any takers for a crane rise on this coming Saturday?
Today is the ideal weather for overead work and I bet Saturday will be to windy! Anyway, will be good to see this crane at full height.

This one sure has gone up quick. You can see the carpark levels clearly now, with the mixed-use office & residential floors set back from the building as it goes up. Corebox level is at 9.

I'm glad this one is going up, it will cover up that gross looking building next to it from the Pulteney St side.

If it's the KPMG - Me too! I reckon it's outstanding in many respects - departs from the usual glass curtain or balcony stye. Love the contrasting colours and vault on top.

Thanks Urban.
The Western core top out indicates where the office levels finish, as that core is for the office only elevators, so essentially we now have the eastern core to rise 10 more levels until total top out.

It's more the colour than anything.

The Red Building??? I think it looks cool. Adds a bit of diversity to the city and better then those crappy green glass buildings (ie. CC! etc) that you can see right through .. looking at CC1 from Vic Square with its window blinds down at random heights on each floor reminds me of those old apartment buildings in Europe where people hand out their washing over the balcony .. the blinds look like bed sheets ... ugly!!! I prefer this red building, or Black stump, Telstra, old ING Building (opposite Telstra). Add another 10 or so storeys on all these building and city would look awesome.
