There are no WACA fans. Even in Perth.

Discussions on BigFooty's WACA and New Perth Stadium forums say otherwise. I don't understand them.
I'm a WACA Pitch fan, never been to the venue but even on TV it looks shambolic. Hearing about press tents with no air-con and having to put laptops in the fridge doesn't help.

anyone know what the situation is with the lights on the southern stand, was their for the carols in elder pk and they only had a few purple colour lights up top left hand corner, I had previously seen the whole back of the stand lit up in green and yellow for the ashes, perfect opportunity to showcase the stand that night and was a bit disappointed, thought they may have had xmas colours up or something

A lot of work being done on the turf it seems, with only 14 days until the first Strikers' home game. Also some construction work on the western stand.

@ Adelaide Alive

They must still be testing the lights I reckon. They had Crows colours right around the roof for a few seconds tonight then switched to green and gold.

I noticed that as well and was also disappointed as they missed an opportunity to showcase it to the wider population. Although the SACA T20 Premier League (I think that's what it's called) may have played a part because I know that was on at the same time.

They've gotten it very bright and purple tonight though!

Read in today's AFR about the cricket - a glowing report - AD. Oval has had huge national exposure through the greatly increased popularity of cricket this season - reached 2m viewers on the Sunday at AO, coupled with the near record attendances of over 36000 the same day here. Can only have good legacy here!

Does anyone know what the building under construction between AO and the tennis courts is for?

Pretty sure it's the indoor cricket center.
You may recall there used to be an old building between the tennis courts and the old bradman stand. It was demolished along with the bradman stand.
Where it's being built I believe used to be some old lawn bowls center.

Think it's also where the Crows will have their 'shed' parties pre and post-match.
