would be great if the new Walker office building could take some design cues from the curved casino building, to give a more complementary look to the development.

the 86.860m quoted height is a AHD measurement. Take 44m off that height for a total building height.Ben wrote:This goes before the DAC on Thursday. Their report is below. Surprisingly this building is 87m high. That makes it almost the same as the Intercontinental?

Good to see that it's finally going to the DAC, this project is so important for Adelaide.

Can't happen soon enough. Adelaide Casino is by far the worst in Australia, and is an embarrassment in its current form. As for location however, it could be one of the best. Walking distance to everything adelaide has to offer.

For the period of 31 of dec to the 26 Jan there will most likely
be 6 cricket matches at Adelaide oval with an aggregate crowd of
about two hundred and fifty thousand people. When Adelaide oval
is attracting that many people in less then a month I think it's fair
to say that the casino would be doing ok and would get a good
return on the planned upgrade.

Will the current casino be getting upgraded as well as the new expansion, it looks so tatty and tired in parts even after they gave it a little face-lift only a few years back. Surely they can't keep it looking the way it is.

A revamped pub type bar for live music would be great.

This. The one we have is pretty dismal. I would go there all the time if there was a decent big screen with quality audio.ChillyPhilly wrote:New sports bar please.

It's a barely-glorified TAB in its present form. I like the one at Crown and Star.robboaustralia wrote:This. The one we have is pretty dismal. I would go there all the time if there was a decent big screen with quality audio.ChillyPhilly wrote:New sports bar please.

How about something based on the Perth Crown with windows/balcony overlooking the Torrens. (I know I am dreaming)

After my recent visit to adelaide I was in 2 minds of the old railway station site could ever deliver a world class facility. However yesterday I cycled around the Burswood site here in Perth, and only on cycling past the crown complex, the new stadium site, and environs does the stupidity of the siting of the new stadium here become apparent. The crown is not an easy walk from the new stadium. The footbridge from the stadium over the swan goes to .... Well nowhere. Anyone advocating future moving of adelaide casino should think carefully. It's location is second to none in Australia, and if developed properly, could be a spectacular more intimate boutique experience, with all the bells and whistles of its bigger cousins, and walking distance to everything! Perth crown may always be bigger, as with its new stadium, but as an overall night out experience, adelaide will win just on proximity of entertainment options within literally 15 mins walk.
