The next state election should really become the de-facto vote on this issue. If you want a new CBD stadium and no further outlay on AAMI vote Liberal or if you want a new hospital and no new stadium in the CBD vote labour.
After all, us taxpayers will be paying for either option, so let them decide.

I'm sorry but that is ****ing ridiculous. Even as an ardent CBD stadium supporter, I will not base my vote for the next election on one issue. That is quite ignorant. And Rann making it sound like this is the deciding factor, hospital VS stadium...makes me very angry.

Ah, The Liberals have not ruled out upgrading Football park, they're just more open to the idea of building a new stadium.

Ok cruel_world then have a referedum [or plebiscite] to vote on just this one issue. That would be fairer and considering its probably a $1 billion+ outlay for us taxpayers - its justified.

As embarrasing as it is I can put up with AAMI stadium for another 5 - 10 years. However what can't stand is the current lack of vision that involves wasting the most prime waterfront real estate in South Australia on a Hospital. Built the new hospital but save the railyards for a stadium in 5 - 10 years time. I believe thats what we should be arguing about.

That is generally what most people are arguing about.

Nah mate, that's just too hard for some people on this forum to comprehend.

there must be a reason that site was chosen for the hospital, If the government released that information as to why they believe the hospital should be there i think we would all be happier with their decision.

Exactly... there is no reason why we taxpayers should be kept in the dark regarding an investment that is over a billion dollars and in such a prominent location.

Spot on cruel_world00!
'how_good_is_he', PLEASE don't ever bring that up again. Media Mike is telling the public of South Australia that this issue is just black and white and that they're going to be build a new hospital, whilst the Liberals are going to spend the money on a new stadium. That is RIDICULOUS! Firstly, the Liberals have said that they'll rebuild it on the current site because of a few reasons which I can't remeber at the moment (but one is the fact that it is in close proximity to the Universities, Botanic Gardens, etc. -no wait the Botanic Gardens was NOT one of their points, but it still is a good reason to rebuild there).
Secondly, EVERYONE IS AGREEING THAT WE NEED A NEW HOSPITAL! NO ONE is denying that! But what we don't want (as many, many, many people have said), we don't want the hospital on the riverfront, however we don't want the stadium built right now, we want a vision and to NOT see $100million of taxpayers dollars WASTED on upgrading that... thing at West Lakes.

By the way, 'how_good_is_he', my second point and onward was not aimed at you.
