The jump form for the core was being removed yesterday, it's all topped out.
The facade on this is looking fantastic, especially when viewed from Vic Square. I feel the finished bulk will almost resemble a picture frame, with the more pronounced gold framing nicely complimenting the GPO Clock Tower. This is a cracking mid rise in my opinion!

Couldn't agree more Pikey. I remember the original planning documents for the City Central development talking about the design objective of creating a neutral backdrop for the PO building when viewed from the Square to emphasize the ornate heritage architecture rather than compete against it. Whether or not that's the brief the architects are still working to it looks to me that's pretty much what we're getting, as Ursus Maritimus' second photo demonstrates nicely. I'm really liking what I'm seeing emerge...Pikey wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 8:01 amThe jump form for the core was being removed yesterday, it's all topped out.

The view alone might make a booking in that hotel worthwhile.

Like the BHP building next to it, very ordinary design saved by really nice glazing.
I saw it in person last week, thought it was pretty decent and OK.
