Approved by the SCAP - the total demise of a wonderful idea and opportunity for KWS, into this

How the fuck was this ever allowed to be approved.
SCAP panel should hang their heads in shame and resign. Atrocious.

lots of negative comments here, but only mine was deleted by 'moderator' (and it wasn't negative).

Calling it: This is probably the biggest disappointment since 20-22 Currie St, if not, of all sensational-adelaide's history. Wow!

It's disappointing, but I'd rather see this than have the site empty for another 10 years.

Nah, there was a big bronze 150m skyscraper proposed for the courts on the corner of KWS/Wright Street in the early 2010s which ended up becoming a SAPOL horse facility. That takes the cake, even if that skyscraper vision was pie in the sky.
The lack of development to date of Club 199, the Newmarket Hotel and DOMINATOR/SA1 also rank up there IMO.
This one's very disappointing but it's not a very nice stretch of KWS/Currie at the moment so hopefully it can improve the vibe a little. One of the few parts of the city that feels slightly unsafe to me during the day. There's still no shortage of underdeveloped sites in the CBD so not everything is going to be amazing unfortunately. I do wish it was at least tall enough to fully cover the ugly blank wall of the neighbouring building.
I'm convinced it's the mediocre ones that seem more likely to go ahead, so we'll see if that holds up here.

the skyscraper with a star shaped observation deck on the old DJ's site in the 1990s was a good one

This is an awful outcome but with Freemasons still happening and the market, festival plaza 2 and Vic tower moving ahead, it doesn’t feel so bad.
The original render also looked odd. Never was clear how this would look when finished. Could have been gorg could have been weird

It was definitely more gorg than weird. A true shame and disappointment that it’ll never be built.
