This morning:

It appears the very top storey hasn't been glazed at all yet. As an aside, I also found our internal document about the Services Australia fitout. It's nothing to write home about - the dunnies, lifts and so on will be in the core, and the core surrounded by open office space. There will be uni-style alcoves of couches and stools in the middle of the office for 'collaborative work' ... I doubt they will get used for that.

My colleague remarked that the proposed furniture and colours will be out of fashion very quickly. I tend to agree because it's a kind of 2018 tropical theme with dark salmon, muted green, and beige, depending on the floor. Fashion doesn't really concern me though. We're still excited about leaving this old place behind.

It certainly is a contender... although I wouldn't be surprised if the Allianz / MTAA building is the largest. The footprint is bigger than this one.

That building does have a massive internal void though, reducing the actual office space available.

That's pretty cool to know - it will be the largest of them all. As noted above, five separate city offices of Services Australia will be consolidated into this one, including the rather large Naylor House on Flinders Street, Centrelink staff, Child Support staff and Medicare staff. In my current building, our division occupies four or five floors. In the new, it will fit on one.

Is this the first building in SA using curved glazing? Iirc the sky city building uses thinner flat glass for the curves which this KW building doesn't seem to have done.

I'm pretty sure the ATO building on Franklin Street was the current largest by lettable floor space, although that might've been surpassed by the new one on Pirie Street?

The glazing quality looks good. Under blue skies it's blue obviously, but even under overcast skies it takes on a pleasing silvery quality. I think it goes some way to bringing King William Street into the twenty-first century.
