It's the Hume Highway between Sydney and Melbourne, and the eastern terminus of the Sturt Highway. However (and I'm being extremely picky here I know), the Sturt Hwy meets the Hume Hwy in NSW where it's only NR31 (it's designated M31 in Victoria only), and it's not yet 'M' standard for it's entire length - it reverts to single carriageway through Tarcutta (only a few kms south of the Sturt Hwy). But by 2012, the remaining 20 odd kms should be M standard (just 3 town bypasses).

Still, putting it on NExy signage is a tad ludicrous IMHO.

One can only assume it is a typo and it is meant to say "To M20"

regardless of the signage the road looks fantastic (what I can see of it) we went through the intersection of Main North Road and the freeway and it is looking extremely close to being finalised.

I have to say the drive from Nuri to Gepps Cross is starting to look a lot more enjoyable, especially the Elizabeth to Gepps Cross part which was a nightmare.

I reckon i'll be keen for the community bike ride.

Does this all mean the expressway will be open for cars on Monday?

Is the Port Wakefield Rd interchange finished? (i.e. Bridges and all) because on the ABC News, it looked to me that it was still under construction. (Bear in mind, I did just glance at it from a distance, so I may be mistaken)

BTW, on this being completed ahead of schedule, I congratulate all who were involved with the project. :applause:

So its open to traffic tomorrow yes?

I went for a drive past the Womma Interchange and the Curtis interchange today, saw the huge line up into the carpark at both and went home

The expressway is open the public from Monday afternoon. Apparently they're going to do some final "safety inspections" in the morning.

I'm out north again today so I'm going to use this to get home tonight. It's going to be interesting to see how much time this actually saves me. Looking forward to it.
