Sadly, the ASX Stock Price Screen can be seen from the cafe - damn that GFC!
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Just an ad. Possible indication that a store's not too far away though.Ben wrote:Did it mention a store opening or just an add?Pants wrote:Tiffany & Co.

It is a cool shop. The fluro coloured bikes are all the rage. This shop specialises in parts for bikes and then they put it together.Prince George wrote:There's a cool looking bike shop that's opened up on Ebeneezer Place - Treadly Bike Shop. Looks like they specialize in town bikes / commuter bikes, I must go have a closer look.
Also, the former Youthworks on James Place has a new clothing store opened up in it. Will have a look at it tonight

I could be wrong, but I think they've advertised fairly regularly in that publication in the past.Pants wrote:Just an ad. Possible indication that a store's not too far away though.Ben wrote:Did it mention a store opening or just an add?Pants wrote:Tiffany & Co.

Pulteney St actually closes down tomorrow.Allkai wrote:According to an article in todays paper, Dick Smith is moving into 55 Gawler Place, the old Adelaide Bank branch.
The Pulteney St store is likely to close "when the lease expires in the next few years", but the Myer Centre store is to remain.

not sure if this needs it's own thread, maybe if/when things get more serious.

Feedback sought for Central Market vision
Another review is being done of the operations of Adelaide's Central Market.
Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood said it was vital to put the market on a sound footing for the next decade and to learn from other successful fresh produce markets around the world.
He said there had not been a formal review of the Central Market for more than a decade.
"It's the heart and soul of the city. It plays a key role in bringing our diverse community together and makes a significant contribution to the city's economic prosperity," he said.
Mr Yarwood said Woolworths and Coles were proving to be tough competitors for the Central Market.
Trader Mark Gleeson said a board with retail and management expertise was needed to oversee the market.
"Our customer base is being eaten away by regional shopping centres," he said.
A vision for the market's future is expected to be announced next March.
Re: New Retail in the CBD
As long as they bulldoze the shopping centre part and replace it with something good, I'll be happy

Re: New Retail in the CBD
Personally I've always thought central market was a complete dump. However with a bit of imagination it could be turned into something that would really draw people into that part of the city.
Re: New Retail in the CBD
I think it already does draw people into that part of the city. Have you been in the evening? Absolutely buzzing. "Improvements" shouldn't come at any cost.
Re: New Retail in the CBD
What? Coles is a key tenant of the Central Market!Mr Yarwood said Woolworths and Coles were proving to be tough competitors for the Central Market.

Re: New Retail in the CBD
I know that the Southern Cross arcade doesn't get much love in these parts, but it has the best food court in of all the spots along the mall. Too many of the others have just produced shiny but deadly dull courts that wouldn't be out of place in a Westfield (City Cross - I'm looking at you), the kinds of places that appeal to the big chains or other vendors who worry about glossy signage more than food. If updating the Southern Cross means losing the Happy Dragon, I will be most upset.
