Gotta say, that Camera House next door just looks awkward between the 1880's architecture of Adelaide Arcade and the looming figure that the Ibis hotel currently cuts into the sky next to it. Add to that the old Toys R Us building in the distance, complete with it's massive K-Mart logo... It just seems to stick out to me like a sore thumb. I hate seeing these single story buildings nestled into prime pieces of real estate in the CBD. It makes me think they've gone to waste. Does anyone else think this, or is it just me?

The facade treatment looks eerily similar to another building in Melbourne's Docklands somewhere.

Thanks James for the pics...can I ask if the no balconies design was a directive of the hotel chain? Also to clean all the windows do you need abseiling window cleaners (and how often)? Is there any intention to sell off rooms/apartments? Is there any pool or gym facilities also?

Its a budget hotel chain and most budget hotels don't have balconies, infact even many nice hotels don't have balconies. The only places that seem to have balconies are serviced apartments

Lil' Adelaide's growing up! :D

I think there's only one more core rise to go before it tops out. Cladding is up to Level 11.
