The fritted veil should be finished on June 18th., delays permitted of course.
Cheers

Very sleek from this angle as well. A well designed building and suitably so for VSQ
Have not seen it from the east.

So no curtain wall of glass?
If it's a series of "louvers" it could dead set ruin this tower.

As far as I know it is still going to be glass. The latest renders still show glass. If it is louvers it would definately wreck the building. The frame currently under construction looks as though it is designed for glass attachments.

No, it's a fritted glass veil.
Cheers

Don't worry it's glass.

That sounds like something dubious I could order from my local fish and chip shop.

Fritted glass is just a type of patterned glass - its quite common in modern architecture, particularly the sleek, sophisticated variety!
I don't suspect theres too much to worry about
Saw this building in person yesterday for the first time in a number of months - looking greee-ate

So, Fritted Glass is what was used on the new Advertiser Building? I mean the second layer of glazing with the letters?

It is sort of similar to that.
Some of the renders for this project did indicate a sort of patchwork glass effect. Other just showed the same tone glass over the western elevation. The fritted patchwork effect could look amazing on this building if they use the right shades and colour glass.

The glass curtain thats being installed at the moment protrudes a lot farther out than I initially thought it would. In all honestly, I quite liked it before, but time will only tell to see how this one turns out. And I hope it turns out for the better.
When I was in town the other day, I noticed the scaffolding on St. Xavier's coming down already?

Don't always go by what you see in renderings. Between the veil and the building there has to be enough room for the maintenance people to clean the glass on each side (windows and veil) via permanent catwalks.
