Anyone got any comments about this - interested to know.

Growing Hills Industries heads to new HQ
March 16, 2010
HILLS Industries will leave its long-time Edwardstown premises for a new green-star building on Port Rd by the middle of next year.
Work has begun on the building, which forms part of a $28 million development of the area by South Australian construction company the Mossop Group.
Hills managing director Graham Twartz said the company had decided on the site after an extensive search for new headquarters.
Last year, the company abandoned plans for a new building in King William St when joint venture partner Goodman withdrew from the development.
"We are really excited to be going to a high-profile head office which will be a fitting home for Hills," Mr Twartz said.
"Edwardstown has been a fantastic site as the company has developed through its stage as a manufacturer, but a new, modern, green-star building will be much more fitting for the future Hills."
Hills has been at the Edwardstown site since 1955, nine years after the company was formed in 1946.
Mr Twartz said the new 3000sq m building would be large enough to cater for the future growth of the company.
"We are looking at this as the long-term home for Hills and we are taking more space than we have got here to allow for the growth we fully expect in the future," he said.
Mossop Group director Neil Mossop said the Hills building - situated between Chief St and East Tce on Port Rd - was an integral part of the company's development.
Mossop is spending more than $28 million on three buildings, including the renovation of an old church which will become Mossop's new head office in June this year.
The third 2100sq m building will be developed without pre-commitment. However, Mr Mossop said he was confident of securing a tenant for the building.
"We have got confidence in Adelaide and Port Rd and we think it is going to be a great area to be in," he said.
Mr Mossop pointed to the tram extension and the refurbished entertainment centre as two major projects that were rejuvenating the area.

Hang on, doesn't this intrude on the area marked for the Bowden Village TOD?

It isn't part of the land that the government bought off the Gerard family.. not sure about it being marked as Bowden Village land though. This sounds like great news for Hills... and the new Tramline!

According Consultant's Preferred Area & Site plans, the location they're talking about for the Hills building is in the corner of the Bowden Village area (and Chief St is supposed to serve as the areas 'Main Street')

What a pity the KWS project did not eventuate - though my brother, a CEO in Adelaide, said they would not get the finance.

In the second plan posted by Nathan there seems to be 2 connections from the new tramline to the train corridor, 1 before and 1 after the entertainment C stop. Anyone know anything about this?

There's been some discussion about that in the Bowden Village and Tram Line threads. At the moment, the two connections seem to be the idea of the LMC (behind the Bowden Village master plan), and not any concrete plans by the government for the tram extenstion.

Could well be a site inspection re the damages claim and court case between Hills and Goodman about the withdrawal from the joint agreement, which caused the buiding cosntruction to stop dead. There will be lots of $$$$$ involved in damages and builder payment for work completed etc.

What a huge pity about this one - would have added enormously to KWS sth. I do remember my brother ( a CFO) saying this would not go through long before we knew of the outcome.
