4/8/2019 some pictures of the recently upgraded line from Vic Sq to South Tce
(1) looking towards new Adelaide south stop. the only place to turn right between Gouger St and Greenhill Rd, note cant drive on tram tracks any more .only 2 traffic lanes and loss of parking spaces.
(2) the new stop with 2 platforms.
(3) approaching South Tce no right turn. (can turn right if travelling to city). note there is going to be a thin concrete strip the whole length to stop cars doing U turns except at Carrington street intersection

The stop finishings seem to get cheaper (or at least inconsistent -- no paving and less glazing this time) with every iteration, but I guess that's unsurprising given the Nth Tce blowouts. Glad to see an accessible stop either way.

Given the layout of these stops are there plans to have buses use the tram lanes?

It would make sense. However, it doesn't appear that they have installed Kassel kerbs, so possibly not.

Looks nice, but doesn't look like it provides anywhere near as good weather protection as the Adelaide type.

That shot is at the suburban terminus. The city terminus and inner-city stops are all side platforms and have much better weather protection than Adelaide's previous city stops. Not sure how they compare to the new ones tho. Below is the city end, note the use of glass walls to provide weather protection but still allow passive surveillance. They look amazing at night too!

I have noticed that the timetable boards at every tram stop outside the city and at the South Terrace stop have dissappeared.

Does anyone know what they are doing? Getting new ones presumably but why not just replace the actual signs?

I suspect the timetables are gone as the real time information signs are now operational.

It seems that Adelaide Metro is anti Public Transport timetables.
With the impending closure of the Info Centre in Curie Street and the only other option is the Adelaide Railway Station the don't seem very interested in wanting to help commuters,visitors etc.

To be honest, in my Adelaide commute and overseas travels I haven't used a paper timetable in a long, long time. Dedicated transport apps and Google Maps are more reliable, easier to use and much more convenient.

I use Google Maps whenever I'm on the go.

I can't wait until we have driverless trams. That will mean we can have high frequency public transport 24/7. This is the direction the government should be taking, instead of driverless cars.
