Henley's high rise revolution

A THIRD high-rise apartment building is set to change the face of Henley Square.

Plans for the five-storey building, with 22 shops and an underground carpark for almost 300 cars, have been lodged with Charles Sturt Council by Bayspring Pty Ltd.

If approved, the $40 million development will be built on the corner of Seaview Rd and Main St, dwarfing the Ramsgate Hotel on the opposite corner. It will also be next door to the H20 and Baju apartment buildings, which are under construction.

I take it as meaning the remaining shops & carpark on Seaview Rd / Military Rd between Main Street & H2O / Baju, including the Coffee Club, bakery,
newsagent etc, but no render yet.

Baju & H20 are close to topping out - from two weeks ago:

Baju & H20 - Thursday. Although they are on a large site, they step down to Military Rd, so overshadowing & privacy shouldn't be a problem for the
remaining homes opposite. (?)

I think Henley Beach has enormous potential to rival Glenelg with that sort of high-rise development and activity around the Square.
