this one has taken a helluva long time to finish off, still not quite there yet but making its presence felt on the water.

We need much more medium density developments in the suburbs. This one has turned out rather nicely and lifts the profile of the area a bit more.
I especially like its tapered look, a stark contrast to the 'boxes' commonly seen everywhere.

Website always said mid to late '08 for completion and it highlights the builder has just won the Master Builders National awards for a medium density development plus home of the year [AUSTRALIA WIDE!] plus HIA home of the year [SA].
Have been told by many the builder is not going to rush the job for anybody, will only use the same trades he has used in the past [even if it is a small team] so he can ensure the quality and finish is very high.
If you want to see slow, check out the 2 x 8 level building supposed to be built up the road - they haven't even started and its been nearly 2 years! Wonder if the DA has run out ...

As a child, I always wanted to live at the top of the apartment building on Martin Court, seen to the left of Adelarch's second photo. West Lakes is an excellent example of a suburb that can justify additional mid-rise developments within reason.

The only hope of getting good PT to AAMI Stadium is for a dramatic increase in Medium density developments such as this one around West Lakes. The problem of West Lakes appalling pedestrian linkages would also need to be solved.

Surely though the shopping centre (which is getting upgraded) would give sufficient reason for a rail link. The car park is always completely full.

Do expand. I'm only familiar with the immediate area around Football Park and Westfield, so any new information would be helpful.

If you mean the site up the road opposite footy park (with the chinese restaurant) then it will be starting very soon. My in-laws own it and they are having their last restaurant patrons later this month (including me!). Then it's time to swing that wrecking ball baby!
