Nah, but I agree with you - not car parking. Basement/sub basement for lifts, plant etc, rather than on top of the building.

Well at least we now know what the basement is for. How can they be six weeks behind though? Surely they knew they had to dig out the basement first?

Spoke to a worker on site yesterday arvo - they are running 6 weeks behind on this one. Basement almost dug but more concrete to go in.

They seemed to have stoped digging and were pouring concrete at the deepest level yesterday (24/4/18). Pictures from Austin St.

Quick up date 4/5/ 2018 . it is hard to see what is happening at the deepest level; there are still 2 mini excavators down there.

There are a couple of piles in the deepest part of the site but I could not get a picture today (5/5/2018).

Those heritage apartments in the original renaissance building are going to be pretty dingy dark affairs for most of the year once the new building goes up.
