[SWP] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital
Fences are now up around the site and land clearing has started for the car park.

I was going to post the same, less the great photo.Uncle Monty wrote:Sneaky pic through the fence from this morning. Earthworks look completed for the car park site
I will always believe this carpark is the worst take of the Malinauskas Government.
Our state, our city, our future.

I can think of a lot of other worst takes of the incompetent authoritarian dodgy Malinouskas Dictatorship.

Neither, I’d rather Marshall, and I have voted centre-left at every state election aside from the last.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 4:09 pmBro who would you rather have, malinauskas or Vincent Tarzia

Not really my side of politics but he's a very nice man by all accounts.

so Gaol Road has been blocked off... which was a safe access road to the River Torrens parkway from the City west parklands

Whenever I fly into Adelaide, I book a window seat on the left just to get those shots coming in over the CBD.

Drove past this morning, all the stabling facilities are dust. All that is left is the offices on the eastern side of the site.Uncle Monty wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 7:46 pmA lot more demo has happened on the Bonython Park side of the site over the past few weeks
I anticipate there could be a site shut down once they start digging for the foundations. From my understanding, five of the first executions in Adelaide and South Australia happened on this site and at Montefiore Hill (the Adelaide Gaol wasn't yet built or was in its infancy), anywho, the bodies were buried in unmarked graves on the Therbarton (or 'Therberton' as it was known then) Barracks site. I'm sure they've already planned for this or addressed the likelihood of this happening during demolition/construction, but it will be an interesting piece of history coming to the surface (literally).
