am I wrong?
if so how? rather than firing insults at anything you disagree with could you possibly respond like an adult?
How do you know it's going to be full of franchise stores?

It would be ideal for a City DFO. This would help decentralize Adelaide's major retail shopping. The movement of shoppers between Rundle Mall and this development would be great for the City.

I disagree, this is the wrong location for that sort of development and would make the markets feel less unique.

because only franchise stores will be able to afford the rent...see Rundle Mall...

Awnings on Grote Street side are gone now. Just walked by and more and more of the roof has been removed. No progress for photos yet but definitely noticeable in person. Ahhh this will be nice to watch each day during my walks to and from the mall

I would imagine most retail outlets would be a mix of luxury / local retail (a mix of Frewville foodland with Burnside). Keep in mind, this isn't a huge arcade in terms of floor area compared to the markets themselves. It will work well.

Is the whole ground floor area dedicated to shops?

just another shopping mall then...
an opportunity lost to build something with more character by doing less...eg I would've just expanded the existing market into that space and built a modest building with perhaps just an expanded car park on top. Double the size of the market and allow independents to move in and create an area that would be more on the scale of large urban farmers markets in Europe.
instead we'll get a hipster shopping mall full of franchises to maximise rent return for the developer

Thank god you're not in charge of design, let alone economics of leasing.

ABC is right, having any amount of franchise stores in the new development is a big step away from the old Central Market Arcade which had **checks notes** Coles, Vintage Cellars, Sushi Train, Subway, and Chemist Warehouse.
