Adding to Archangel's post. The colours are: Horizon Blue, Pommel, Putty, Wedgewood, Blazed Blue and James White, James Blue. The western veil has 380 glass panels (20 down x 19 across).Archangel wrote:FYI, water effect it is. The glass has a 50% frit (3mm dot pattern) for shading in front of the curtain wall clear double glazing. 7 different colours were selected in total (5 colours for the straight panels and 2 colours for the curved glass panels at the crank location). The frit for the curved panels cannot be from the same colour range as selected for the straight panels but are a pretty close match. The panels that have a greener tinge are the ones which have a 'putty' colour frit applied over clear glass. These lighter shade panels (also a blue) were selected to correspond with the curtain wall glazing behind in order to not compromise external views from office floorplates, but still maintain the random colour effect. There will be no clear panels, they will be all colour fritted. Expect the mast climber from the south to be relocated very shortly to progress north veil glazing panel installation (potentially early next week - weather permitting).
Cheers

Great photos Norman!
This building hs really set the standard in design for Adelaide. I think Woods & Bagot should take note over at CC!

Talking with an insider mate tonight, he says that SAW should be moving in before the end of the year and EPA early next year.Ben wrote:Part of the SA Water signage is up on Vic Square side. It reads "Water"....
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

They have had the lights on in some of the floors at night lately. The western glass goes largely transparent but a very cool effect is created between floors where a line of the different colour glass panels between each floor is partly illuminated showing the different colours. Looks awesome.

Thanks for the pic Ben,
Looks like some scaffolding has been set up under the veil?

Sorry if it's been answered already, but what is happening to their office on Pirie street when they take up residence in this lovely building?

The Government's new shared services department which is running $30 million over budget and which has taken up 9 levels in Westpac (with something like 150 of 600+ desks currently empty) will be taking up further space in the old SA Water building on Grenfell Street. The EPA is also moving into the top 2 floors of the new SA Water building (they are currently also located in the SA Water builing on Grenfell Street).

Love this building! I drove down Gouger Street from West Tce this afternoon and it sure makes an imposing sight along side of the Law Courts
I noticed that there is a big square opeining in the facade just to the left of the SA Water signage. Does anyone know what this is for?
