I don't think Myer would have any say in the matter. That would be decided by the managers of the Myer Centre, which is not controlled by Myer. Myer is just it's biggest tenant.

Also, Myer seemed to manage perfectly well when David Jones was in the same building (connected to it) and if Harris Scarfe moved into the old Radio Rentals then it would still be in the same building as Myer anyway (again by connection).

However I'm not sure the space where Dazzleland used to be is suitable for use as a Harris Scarfe, as it has huge gaps in the middle on each floor! Maybe though, if they removed all the walls that seperate each of the shops then it could turn out there's a lot more space than it looks like there is.

It would certainly be nice to see some activity up there after all these years of it being dead space, even if it was only temp.

I think you'll find that by merit of being the biggest (not to mention title) tenant, they'd have quite a substantial say in the matter. You'd be surprised, also, what kind of arrangements (effectively veto rights) such big tenants (not just Myer, but Woolies etc) can have written into the lease agreements.

But it's all academic. We don't know what Harris Scarfe is considering, though it's likely the Myer Centre isn't it.

I reckon the old radio rentals site is the most likely, and indeed it's the only site I can think of that's really suitable.

I think it's due to not enough tenancy

Occasionally we get it right in the end but we sure like to take our sweet time about it!

This project isn't dead, all the stores (including HS) are still having massive closing down sales

You haven't noticed how Harris Scarfe are slowly taking up less space inside? Did you go down to the half empty basement? All of the Rundle Street side is now empty. All but one of the upper floors are now empty. A lot of sections are boarded up. The pet store sub-lease has left. The toy sub-lease has left.

It really looks like they're preparing to leave.
