Anybody want to gripe about not getting the stadium with a roof in this thread?

Yes I am rather proud of what we are doing in Adelaide, This rapidly expanding research/medical/ university facility will form catalyst for a new future not only the west end but Adelaide and the State. I much prefer this to a sports/ casino lead recovery. We have got our priorities right and still managing a fantastic new Adelaide oval in keeping with our size. The pro RAH, anti tram big stadium people are starting to look a bit silly now.

Not an either or though, we're getting revitalisation of the west end through the medical precinct, plus revitalisation of the riverbank area through Adelaide Oval/Convention Centre/Casino (and hopefully a Festival Centre revamp as a pre-election sweetener?)
Best of both.
Great times for Adelaide. Certainly the most exciting period in my lifetime by a country mile.

I also agree, the repercussions are expanding even further to the western suburbs too, such as the development of the Bowden TOD. I think its good planning and foresight.
Imagine in a few years time driving to the city via Port Road going south east.

Scaffolding is up on the opposite side so I would presume the next panels are going to go up there.

I was also thinking that it evokes reptilian thoughts.

Kind of reminds me of the new RMIT building in Melbourne.

This picture is divine:
Well done Xaragmata. I always enjoy your contribution and photography.
SAHMRI clearly wins most attractive new building in SA and will battle well on a national level too!

I'd encourage everyone to walk/drive past the building too — especially when the sun is out. It looks nice in photographs, but the way the glass catches the light as you move past is really great.
