Is that posible given the proximity of Parafield?? I can see the red lights on to ofthe UniSA Planetarium from Golden Grove.
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

When I say taller I don't mean anything crazy, more like 5-6 stories bulking out the existing density.
I'm a student pilot out at Parafield and given the height of buildings that already exist in the Mawson Lakes university campus I can't see more buildings at that height giving any problems.

Thanks Nort for your perspective as a student pilot. I would love to see a 5 or 6 story appartment block near the ML town centre, but I cant help but think it would be more beneficial for Salisbury council to persue a TOD style 'densification' (if that's even a word?) of the Area around John Street in Salisbury adjacent Salisbury interchange. If they can gentrify it a little and remove the stigma of the area it just might work.

I recall seeing towards the end of last year that Salisbury council does see that type of thing happening in the long term, can't remember the source though.

i must agree to this! i have been to Mawson Lake and this is a really good place and it really has everything you need for a convenient living. also the place is really very relaxing and the people are very welcoming so you really feel warm with the people in the place. i do hope that i would be able to come back here soon because this is really a place that i would love to be able to come visit again

Mawson Lakes really needs to lift its game in the environmental and amenity departments. Currently, there is very little entertainment for locals, particularly young locals - if they want such entertainment, they have to leave the site. Take a cinema for example, the closest one is located at Tea Tree Plaza, or failing that, Reading in Elizabeth.
It's also a well-kept secret that Mawson Lakes is by far the most energy-hungry suburb in Adelaide, and probably ranks quite high in all of Australia (if not at the top) for energy consumption levels. A combination of factors lead to this, but the sole culprits are housing density and design, along with land use.

Good point, but there is also Hoyts at Salisbury.

How wouild housing density increase energy consumption above normal suburb levels? The only way I can think of is increasing people's propensity to use tumble dryers, but I wouldn't've thought Mawson Lakes dense enough for that to be a factor.
