Today I saw that the Sands and McDougall name has been added to the awning in the relevant area:
It was also confirmed that we will use hot-desking in the new building, answering the question of how seven offices will fit into one (even if it's the largest office building in Adelaide).

According to a draft floor plan circulated to staff today, our break rooms will look out onto King William Street. Working areas will look onto Rundle Mall and the neighbouring building which is about the same height. Effectively there will be the good view side (north) and the bad view side (south).

The black window frames make quite a difference. Positive one!Ursus Maritimus wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 8:28 pmToday I saw that the Sands and McDougall name has been added to the awning in the relevant area:

The doors are open so I went into the lobby:

And someone has already added it to the Google Earth 3D buildings layer:

It looks very fancy inside. Is this Adelaide's highest-grade office? I would say so!
That looks to be an update of the Google 3D layer, not a user-generated model.Ursus Maritimus wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 8:36 pmAnd someone has already added it to the Google Earth 3D buildings layer:

I hope it ends up being comfortable inside, and I expect it will. There will be numerous couches and chairs for break time, and eight lifts. No doubt the lighting and chairs will be the latest in ergonomics. Each desk will have monitor arms and be a sit-to-stand desk, which I believe are becoming the standard.
We're looking forward to less stuffing around moving between floors to talk to people, go to meetings and so on.

Viola. We haven't moved in yet and I won't be able to photograph the office once we do, but I've been to a couple of floors.

And this is what I saw of King's Lane:

After having really old-fashioned tube lights that are constantly dying, I was impressed by the quality of lighting in the office space - natural and LED. Obviously it's winter now so we may need to close the blinds in summer. The King's Lane lighting was dark and depressing.

We were advised that the office lights are on sensors, so will switch themselves off to save energy when unoccupied. The lifts appear to be that modern 'dispatch' system where you request a lift, and the keypad tells you which one to use. If I'm not wrong, that means you may wait longer for a lift, but it will take you more directly to your requested floor.
