I am outraged by Jim Daly....

He should be charged with treason for trying to take the future away from us.

Can we organise a meeting with him? Just so we can actually get some sense into this guy?

If this guy were really serious, he could ask for the police barracks, that tiddly little safety school and the old SA Water depot to be returned to Parkland. None of these needs to be located in parkland, and in the case of the police barracks, I am sure that our boys in blue would be relieved to be rid of those old rabbit warrens. I doubt that the SA Water offices have much relevance these days given that United Water runs the metro water and sewer system and SA Water has shiny new orfices in Vic Square.

That would give a great entry to the city from North Terrace.

The shoddy, delapidated police barracks, safety school, assorted storage/rail facilities and railyard employee? car parks all should be removed in favour of a more vibrant, extended riverside precinct and improved parkland open spaces. I think the old SA water depot is earmarked for return to parkland in the near future?

The railyards, tracks, storage areas, rash of carparks, decrepit police buildings etc are a blight on the landscape! This has to be the worst (and ongoing) use of the parklands.
This side of the city deserves an upgrade in keeping with the rejuvenation of the western end and the ongoing revitalisation of Brompton/Bowden with the new TOD, new Ent Centre development and tram extension.
I am a great fan of the extension of the tram network in the city and surrounds.

The APPA need to consider new perspectives and changing uses for the parklands - for all. Will anything ever change while this vocal group obstruct many of the suggested plans and improvements? Perhaps they should focus attention on all the dead and dying trees throughout the whole parklands - victims of ACC neglect as much as the drought?

Here we go with the tree issue again. I wonder if he has thought of the fact that replacement by partly developed trees can be placed in the area in more suitable places after the line is built. They do this in QLD - why not Adelaide. Is it the actual trees that he is concerned about or the removal of trees per se. This way we can have the trees AND the tramline. :!: :!:

I take back many of the things I said before 2010; particularly my anti-Rann rants. While I still maintain some of said opinions, I feel I could have been less arrogant. I also apologise to people I offended; while knowing I can't fully take much back. :)

Is that:
- Two platforms (ie 3 or 4 tracks) at the RAH stop?
- A suspended shelter at the Entertainment Centre stop?

Yes. The City Shuttle will terminate at the RAH when the extension is complete, so there will be a centre terminating track (from what I can see and have heard anyway)

Not sure on that one, but it's certainly an interesting design.

I find it rather disappointing that the power lines along Port Road won't be undergrounded.
