The G&G looks like it hasnt been loved in a while, but could be shmick if restored. But to be honest, Synagogue Pl is one of the dodgier looking places in Adelaide without necessarily being so. But I dont recall ever walking down it as from Rundle St it looks ghetto. I was surprised anyone wanted to buy in to that Globe Apartment building. With this development going up across the road it will come pretty close to sanitisng the laneway, but if the back of the freemasons hall stays the way it is it will still look dodgy.

The cost of this is $100m and the developer is Kyren same as Quest/70 Franklin and 400 KWS so don't expect an architectural masterpiece ...

LOL. Agreed although the other side of the argument is that Kyren at least seems to progress these things to an actual build which puts them well ahead of many others in Adelaide.

They are two of the better developments that have occurred in recent years imo. At the very least it gives me some confidence that they won't make a total dog's breakfast of it.

agree. If Kyren is the developer I expect things to happen quickly.

No chance, you won't see any action on-site until January, 2018 at the earliest.

Do we only get to see the DA online in the week it goes before the DAC panel?

Most likely, unless they do a media launch of the project. I've asked for renders and information but they don't want to provide them at this stage. Not sure what they are hiding, but it should only be a couple of weeks before it goes up in the DAC.

Here's a site layout from InDaily (on an article talking about the neighbouring Tavistock Ln, and other 'private' laneways)

Although, this is a jocular post, I wont be surprised of the final render doesn't look similar to this. As the developer is Kyren, they will likely stick with Cheeseman Architects. If you look at their website, most of their projects have a similar architectural expression.

They did the Alpha and Palais apartments across the road from the site, which have been a very poor addition to the East End.
