I have seen these gardens interstate and overseas and the are usually surrounded by ugly cyclone fencing. And when people fill them with banners, flags and signs to 'stake their plot' they can really look shithouse!

i heard that Rymill Lake is now full - can anyone substantiate this rumour?

It was pretty well full last week, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is full now.

Walked past it yesterday. The fences are all down, kiosk is open and its looks full... looks great!

Pardon my ignorance on the matter, can't locate the park on maps I have - where is it exactly. Looks to be associated with the Torrens through the city area.

The lake is in the southern half of Rymill Park just north of Bartels Road; a delightful spot complete with kiosk, boats for hire, a playground nearby and on the Park Lands walking/cycling trail. go and enjoy!
By the way it is not near the Torens, it was partially re-filled with rain water and is topped up with mains water on a very strict quota basis. It cost the ratepayers of Adelaide the best part of $300,000. David

An example of what the parklands need more of - if the lake could be expanded or another made throughout the East End and lined with 2 or 3 more kiosk/recreational outlets which offer bicycle hire, amenities, rowboat hire, and dare I say, maybe a mini-golf attraction? That kiosk there definetely is deserving of an upgrade into a modern facility.

Just out of curiousity. How much is it to row one of those boats?
