The mother ship has landed....
As you look out of the space craft one can watch the earthlings....
The skin of the ship protects as it flies through space
As a human transport vehicle (known as a "tram") passes by, it is vaporized
All photos are mine, taken late December 2013.

Interesting snippet in the media recently re the impact of the World class SAHMRI (yet to be re-named) and the upgraded Riverbank precinct, including the Adelaide Oval.
(This post could be included in the Adelaide Oval or Riverbank threads due to the significance of this revitalization for the city and state. Added here due to the benefits of increasing numbers of jobs in bio-medical, research areas and attracting a higher percentage of health research funding to SA).
The SAHMRI executive director referred to the development/redevelopment happening in Adelaide as contributing to a positive perception of the city by visitors, with all the inherent benefits for the future. Bio-medical, health research provides valuable knowledge economy jobs and much needed diversification of the economy.
Special praise was given to the emerging Riverbank precinct, including the Adelaide Oval, for "helping turn things around". Forum members have commented elsewhere on this positive vibe.
Worth noting was his comments about the SAHMRI (with global competition for first class professional talent) being pivotal in luring some expat/former Adelaide residents back to their home state. Not just former residents but interstate and international researchers, attracted by the SAHMRI and the new city vibe ... because "Adelaide is alive and happening"!

Try and do the tour if you can. It's almost as spectacular inside as it is outside. The views either way are amazing.

SAHMRI shines!
And other SA awards.
The 2014 South Australia Awards announced by the The Australian Institute of Architects shone a well deserved spotlight on the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) which won 5 awards.

Has anyone here stood at the top of the staircase and looked downwards? Very cool.

I hope they soon decide to make this Iconic building stand out more at night. Maybe some white LED's all over to give it an extra sparkling effect to compliment the reflection of street lighting etc.
