During yesterdays downpour around lunchtime, I was walking back to my car in Sturt St, and I noticed the rain water cascasding off the northern side of this structure which looked amazing. Wish I had my camera. Looked like a 11 storey waterfall :)

I noticed this morning that some glass frames have gone in over parts of the lower levels. I am guessing the glass isn't too far off. The type of glass installed will either make or break this building imo.

Thanks Ben,

Pics don't do justice to how good the marble looks on this. Here's hoping that the refective silver facade in the render is matched in real life.

Just looks a dull grey in the pics but I take your point Pickey, should be very impressive in reality. The building - with cantilever awning and glass, will almost present like the department stores of past times in the lower levels. Adelaide once had a total of 7 - Millers, Moores, J Martins, Cox Foys, Myer, Harris Scarfs and David Jones. (3 left now).

ADELAIDE - TOWARDS AS GREATER CITY SKYLINE

Does anyone know whether the building is Greenstar rated?

It'll take some pretty fancy cooling to handle all that west-facing glass efficiently.

The building is seeking a 4.5 star energy efficiency rating.

Also noticed Wallmans Lawyers have a sign up facing King William Street stating the building will be their new home. I think this sign only went up recently.

Maybe trying to show this development is not having problems and is full steam ahead after that pathetic excuse for an article in the Advertiser recently.

Glass has started going up... however it is clear... Maybe this is just for the lower levels but it looks unusual at this stage...

So the glass is on the levels that have the granite cladding? If so, they are sticking to the original plans/renders which is good.

Here's hoping the upper levels are reflective though.

Not sure if this is accurate.. if so better get a move on. From Colliers:
Available for Lease, 400 King William Street will comprise an eleven level building with a total net lettable area of approximately 23,258sqm. The unique roof terrace, on level 4 has been purposed designed to accommodate a chlidcare centre offering 150 places to building occupants and the general public. Now under construction the building is due for completion and occupation in September 2009.

yeh it's the level after the marble stops. they have started fitting it out. Looks interesting. this level will have the glass set back so not sure how it will turn out.

Another article in the Advertiser today which basically goes back on what they said in the last article about this one stalling.

Instead the Advertiser says it is proceeding as planned. Hmmmm tell us something we don't know!!! What quality journalism :wank:
