Cheers all, appreciated!
Digital networks will be how people communicate in the 21C – no longer will newspapers or commercial TV stations control the messages. Did you know the Advertiser is still yet to publish a colour photo of the lantern yet…what the??!?
I am not part of the establishment but someone that has made an effort to observe and learn from working within the industry of politics, planning and development over 18 years – someone prepared to take a risk, work hard to make a difference in an era where the world needs champions.
Getting as much support as I can via the electronic medium is going to be an important part of enacting a belief that positive change can happen from a generation that has a strong sense of optimism.
If you have time, like Howie, to promote my Facebook page and assist in me gaining a broader support base it will stand me in good stead regarding getting a positive message out to the community!
I understand some may question my motives regarding self promotion – but it is a necessary evil to enact positive change and this is my heartfelt desire – not being popular!

Indeed, one might say power is networking!Clr Yarwood wrote: Networks are powerful things!
Full kudos to you for making yourself more accessible, which is something more people with authority should do. On the basis of your comments thus far, I think you may have my support. My curiosity is piqued though -- future lord mayoral bid in the works?

Great newsletter David.. thank you for posting that.
Appreciate the mention we got in there too

I'll make sure the council gets a hardcopies of the submission. We just had them printed off.DEVELOPMENT PLAN REVIEW
Every so often Council is required to review its Development Plan – it is not a re-write of the plan but rather a ‘tweaking’ of the plan to ensure compliance with strategic directions of the Council and the State. Many interesting submissions have been received and there will be a public hearing on the submissions this Thursday, 13 November at 5.30pm at the Town Hall.
…A submission by SENSATIONALADELAIDE makes a strong case for relaxation of building height limits in the core of the city. They argue “For Adelaide to be regarded a peer to other Australian cities, we need a skyline that reflects our place in the World, while retaining an unique identity for Adelaide.. We must not underestimate the flow on effects that come from a positive outlook in the public’s morale due to the appearance of the city’s skyline – as well as those of investors interstate and overseas”.

I was told that the reason that the street names change once they get to King William St ie Currie then becomes Grenfell, is that you can never cross the King [literally].

Re: [] News: Adelaide City Council
im not sure whats going on here, but if they are thinking of changing street names then i am 100% against it, but im sure they are not doing that as the names are all equally significant to SA history, also the 'never cross the king' saying or 'noone is allowed to cross the path of a monarch' is most definalty the reason why the streets are named as they are
