12/5/18 part of the footings were concreted this morning (Saturday). The bent reinforcing rods will connect to the actual concrete floor (to be poured on top of the existing surface).

Oh I see that we've covered that. Guess it shows that I don't come to the East End daily like I used to before I started working out in the suburbs!

You've shown us that a tower that went up over a week ago is not (yet) a crane tower, which explains why I couldn't pick out a new crane from the South Road Superway yesterday - thanks.

Footings progress as at 16/5/2018.

Some pre-cast retaining walls have been installed at the southern end and the start of the service core pit is in the centre of the site. (Pre-cast means these walls were cast off site, laying flat on the ground then steam cured then transported by road to the site and erected vertically by a crane).

Didn’t something similar to this happen like months ago? I remember something like this going up for a very short period of time before being taken down

You might be thinking of the construction visible in the background of above photo.

Don’t know if it’s been officially announced yet but the hotel component is going to be a Crowne Plaza. Ps. The former one in Hindmarsh Square is now a Pullman.

There was a considerable concrete pour today. i drove past the site at 10:30 and there was four concrete trucks lined up.

I drove past Dwell too. Still looks like a hot cup of fat with a hair in it.

The service core is in the centre of the building as can be seen by the wall reinforcing.

The concrete pour on Saturday was mainly to back fill behind the precast basement walls.

I noticed today that this development is promoting completion by 2019, but then round the corner 2020.
