Black reflective glass has been installed on parts of the lower couple of levels. Will be interesting to see if this continues to the upper levels.

I'm going to continue the trend of posting to myself and say the crane is definatly coming down tomorrow as they have cordened off the area and have two massive temporary cranes parked in there and some guys are up on the crane doing some things. There is still so much to be done though. I'm confused!!!

Not surprising that the crane is going now. All of the heavy lifting is done, and I would not be surprised if each level has it's own stockpile of curtainwall glazing.
Can't wait to see the black reflective glass!

The mirror effect will be most interesting.

As Ben suggested, the crane has indeed come down this weekend.
This brings the crane tally down to 5 for Adelaide.

There is a lot more black glass up on the lower levels now. On the Eastern wall on the upper levels there is a very clear blue type glass. I assume this is what the will use on the front side too..

Does anyone know what they're planning to do with the eastern side of the building? That huge pre-cast face is horrendous.UrbanSG wrote:Thanks for the pic update Ben.
The pics appear clearer too than previous updates. Were these taken on your phone or a camera instead?
The glass had better end up being decent on this development, it will make or break this building.

I guess they'd be not worrying about it too much incase another large building goes there in the future
To try to put it in some sort of perspective the World Cup is as big as having 2 grand finals a day for a month

I guess the eastern elevation may be painted the same grey colour as the northern section.

Looking rather stark at the moment, but good potential - esp if turning out like the original renders. Very limited in appreciating this bldg over the net though the last bunch of pics have been very helpful.

A fair bit of glass has gone up over the upper levels along the eastern elevation now. This glass is also a reflective black shade like the glass that has gone up over the lower levels. I'm guessing the remainder of the building will end up with black reflective glass too. This could be an interesting contrast at this end of town.
Hopefully they do what SA Water did on its northern and southern elevations and install blinds that match the black colour of the glass. SA Water have a lot of their blinds shut at times and you wouldn't even know unlike City Central Tower 1. I believe the appearance of CC1 is adversely impacted by its lighter coloured blinds. These sorts of 'small' details can make or break buildings imo.

If someone's going past, can you get a quick phone pic of the glass if possible?
