Do you suspect this will be visible upon arrival via plane and vice versa? (during the night of course)
I hope so as it would create a real buzz and focal point in our CBD.

[COM] Re: #U/C: Rundle Convergence
Walking past on my way home from work tonight at about 7pm I noticed that they were doing a colour test on a single column. I only had the video camera built into my phone so sorry for the crappy images, but you'll get the idea.
Even the simple solid colours looked quite good, my only complaint was that the diffusers don't work hard enough to give a solid panel of light, but instead give a couple of bright spots.
Quite exciting!
And now I'm off to bed, 14 hour days are not good. (But I still love my job)

Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

Nicely spotted monotone! Didn't realise they were testing tonight, otherwise i'd have stayed in town.

I think that it wouldn't be visible from the air, at least not much of it. The approach from the north isn't that close to Rundle St, and the building opposite it is probably tall enough to obscure it.Brando wrote:Do you suspect this will be visible upon arrival via plane and vice versa? I saw the testing as well and took some photos. They didn't come at that well but there
better than nothing. It looked ok tonight however when I was there they only had
25% or so of the panels illuminated. It will look better when the whole thing is working.
If you look closely on some of the photo's you can see the small lights that project onto
the panels above. Does anyone know how the bottom row of panels work ?
Does anyone else think it's a pain in the ass getting photos on this site ?
The first two are from the top of the building diagonally opposite :

Oh my goodness; I want to marry it right now and make babies. Many, many babies.
How exceptional. See how it has turned me into a giggly little teenager!

That is truly impressive! How much testing was done, on all or only a few columns?
[COM] Re: #U/C: Rundle Convergence
Wow!
This project is awesome. Can't wait until it is up and running. There will be a lot of nightime traffic jams in that area though as a result

I was down at Farina's in Hindmarsh Square last night, and got the shock of my life when I saw part of it lit up.
Didn't get a good look, was too far away, but from what I saw it looked alright.
Looking forward to see it "animated", with the whole thing lit up, flashing, changing, etc.

Any idea when the next test is? I'll see if I can get my camera and tripod set up for it.

Hmm there was a link to a webcam on this page last night. I was just browsing and saw it. I thought it must have been turned on early. I waited and didn't see much moving though. Just occasionally a new panel would light up. Testing explains why it looked so boring
