Last year I heard second quarter 2009 being thrown around. (April - June) but that was prior to the GFC escalating so not sure if that has changed.

I've heard a rumour that the site is about to be placed on the market for sale.
I certainly hope that's not the case.

It is not really a shock IMO, as it has been stalled for 4 years. To be honest, i never thought it would get built anyway.

That is a real shame...
This one would have impaceted on our skyline... And would also possibly raise the bar in standards of height for buildings in Adelaide.

Looks decent in that render. Better than I suspected after the glass was removed from the balconies. We all know about renders though, not always accurate.
I would be surprised if this actually starts this year given the current economic climate. Would be great if it did but don't have my hopes up.
This should work out to be a larger version of the render provided by Ben:

Looks like they've done everything asked of them in terms of streetscape frontage. Good compromise.

Oooer. May we can hope?
I'll be mighty excited. Is it just me or, does that look like a gigantic mirror on the left side of the building in the western elevation?

ah there is a glimmer of hope. Because of the location of this tower and how it will affect the skyline, I was hoping this one would go ahead rather than the Currie St thingo. Wheres that guy? Denny Crane. Get your finance and a crane, and up you go please

Unexpected indeed, but very pleasing to see.
I guess when you think about it, by the time this one is finished there is a very real chance that the GFC situation would have improved and therefore the timing of this development would potentially allow it to fully capitalise on the upswing of the economy
