There was a proposal for a hotel to be built on the site of the Marion Cultural Centre (arts centre/library/gallery/ cafe). I don’t know what the status of it is but the developer and/or Govt should buy/compulsorily acquire all the land between the train station (Diagonal Way) and the Aquatic centre and build the hotel there. It would save demolition of the existing building and create a safer link between the two areas with an activated 24/7 business and Public transport at the door for tourists/the hotel. Btw, anyone know which hotel it was to be?

Rather than a bare wall on the platforms I would love to see some mural on the walls, maybe related to the pool since it did host a Youth Olympics event a few years ago.

Weren't they planning to rebuild Oaklands station above grade rather than below grade?

It seems like the previous time they upgraded Oaklands station wasn't that long ago.
