After my weekend away in Whyalla, I made up for lost time and made a run to the city yesterday afternoon. Quite a lot of photos were taken.
New concrete at the railway station platform site.
New median strip in North Terrace.
New overhead wires and the curve at North Terrace and King William Street.
New curve around Franklin Street intersection.
Many more photos coming.

I was in a hurry to get a request for pics of the Ten Studios, so I only had time to do 2
I'll do more soon. It took me ages to fix up that gallery thing, but it seems to work well.

That second-to-last one looking South down King William Street looks fantastic!
I like the look of the poles they've put in to hold the cables up, just hope that they paint the clamps and brackets they're using on them. Does anyone know if the poles will be used for lighting as well?

Notice the trees in front of Parliament House are still standing, contrary to initial reports.

To add to the irony, it was a Beeline as well. You can tell because of the position of the road it is in.
With the overhead masts on the corners and indeed in the median strips, it was proposed to have the lighting mounted in the masts but in the Design Report from October last year, it was decided that due to 'electrical regulations', it was decided not to proceed with that option. Odd, the Box Hill extension of the Mt Albert route in Melbourne has had lighting installed with the overhead masts. The rest of the overhead masts that will be used on the extension will be of the same colour.
or more precisely, the lack of.

Hi there, the Transport SA website doesn't have any info on the next stage but riding past Victoria Sq I noticed a lot going on. They have already excavated the area almost to Grote St and they were busy welding rails together that I dont think were there on Mon. They have also put up fencing in the southern part of the square. I wonder if the next section will be done fairly soon as it this stage will have the least interuption to traffic. Anyone know?

The last section of tracklaying from the northern to the southern end of Victoria Square (and the final link up with the current track) will take place during late July and possibly August. My bet is between July 17 and 28. Just a random guess though. The fencing at the southern end of the square has been in place since the most recent stage of track laying was laid down last weekend. As for minor traffic disruption, I may hold you to that. The southern end of the square will almost centrainly see a complete traffic ban so they can not only lay the new track but also take out the old.
I have recieved a tip off that the platform at Rundle Mall has also started to go up with the concrete facings now installed. I will make a run tommorrow and see what I can get.
