Article from InDaily on tomorrow's opening:

https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A ... -W1SVDFx0S

Interestingly (and I know that Viny will appreciate this  ), Hoyts was the intended cinema group for the original plans. Not sure whether this would have meant the closure of rebadging of Norwood but I guess we'll never know!

There is considerable mention of the opening phases of this new section (i.e. who is opening tomorrow and who may or may not be likely to open in the coming months). It also goes into detail about stage 7 of the Burnside Village redevelopment that will commence from July 2026 this will include extending over the carpark over the open air carpark that faces onto Portrush Road. Given what appears to be a lack of confidence from high-end retail for this latest expansion, I'm surprised they are proceeding at with considerable speed on the next stages of the centre expansion.

Will be interesting seeing the plans for that, hard to see it coming though considering there’s still a lot of unleased stores, I think they need to work there a$$ off and try aim to get these stores here, Bec & Bridge, Dissh, Rm Williams, coach, Nike, Adidas, Mj Bale, and for designer Gucci, LV, YSL, Dior, Chanel beauty at least, Prada, golden goose, fendi, celline and Burberry. And hope they open pretty good eatery’s and a good gym.

So Tiffany is confirmed to open in September with Watches of Switzerland on that side. LV isn't confirmed but most likley will secure it and that fit out will start in the new year. Gucci and Coach are the other most likley designer stores to follow. I suspect the other stores will not be as high end and more mid to street brands opening in the new year.

LV is a 50/50 chance not confirmed, Gucci will only sign if LV does and most likely other LVMH brands, I think they are waiting for burnside to give a really good deal for them to sign. Was disappointing the opening today with alot of white empty shops.

This clustering is very common for luxury brands. They’ll want to go into the centre together or near one another and ensure there are sales. Looks like about 50/50 but it’d be ace if ADL had some luxury pull.

I went along last night to have a look. The new section is at odds with the old section (neither one is bad, they just don't meld well together), it felt unfinished with so many shopfronts not yet open.

The health and wellness precinct on Level 3 is neat.

The three things that struck me as strange were:

Coco Republic have a weird set-up, not bad, just weird.

Boost Juice was the only hospitality offering on Level 1 ready for trade, nothing else looks to have been fitted out.

The area where the gum tree once stood now feels completely empty and wasted, there's one cafe there and a bunch of couches and such but it's not set-up for the same roaring trade that Cibo (yuck) were doing.

The biggest design flaw that I noted was Seed... The Zara menswear section on Level 1 opens up to a corridor but you walk out and it's just a blank wall until you find yourself back at the main Level 1 thoroughfare this is despite on ground level Zara and Seed are opposite one-another Where it gets weirder is that Seed also have a Level 1 entrance but it's on the other side opposite Mecca however below is a vacant tenancy. It feels awkward.

I went past today. The wall mural now has some off-centre text, and a leaf. It looks so rubbish compared to the other road-facing sections.

(Yes, I know, it's not permanent, it will be redesigned when tenants move in, etc. I'm just going to complain about it in the meantime, ok?)

Agreed like so dumb how seed could have done an opening on the side facing Zara men’s but they decided to just leave a blank wall. The other thing what doesn’t make sense is how they got a bra shop next to Australia designer stores and then put AJE in a random spot like they should of switched the 2
