Excellent. Norwood, do you know the width of the canopy as well?

a couple more glass panels are up this morning. it's very very dark blue...
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Glass at long last...which I'm very much liking in terms of the colour choice and fixing detail - my main concern is that such a huge facade in the same material has the potential to end up looking a tad on bland side - ? Hoping not, anyway a few angles:

Great shots Adelarch! Thanks for posting them
[COM] Re:
It looks like the tower is following quite close to the render, with the half width glazing row that is going up now being aparent in the render.

Very impressive - especially that last shot Adelarch. Looks more bulky that the original, even allowing for the extra floor.

I'm prepared to ignore how far the base has gone from being very light and elegant in the render to being very heavy and utilitarian in reality so long as the glass is stunning. I'm still a big fan of what this building's doing for the southern end of the city but the building itself is becoming a bit average IMO. This glass I expect will look much like their Coglin St development. It's glass feature went from being almost impossibly flush, reflective and beautiful in the render to being pretty dull in reality. It looked OK when the first few panels went up but on completion....meh. I suppose we have to wait and see what an 80m stretch of it looks like. I hope it's more reflective.

More of the glazing going up on the front today. You can see the blue glass which has already been installed on the eastern side of the building in this pic:

Nope on the eastern wall the see through blue glass has been installed. You can see it if you look closely.Wayno wrote:you mean western side - right? facing KWS...Ben wrote:More of the glazing going up on the front today. There's an ad for space to lease in this building in today's AFR, with the rather embarrassing by-line of "Adelaide's only new office building"

Sad advert.statement BUT - this factor has bouyed the Adelaide office rents from collapsing and bodes well for acceleration of construction once out of the GFC to keep up with demand. Developers will get on to this. Recently read (AFR 23/7) we have 7.5% office space not used. Vacant space in the other capital CBD's accellerating. Eg Brisbane more unused space than us and rapidly increasing.

So far I'm underwhelmed by this building. The marble (? It's marble, right?) on the lower floors just looks overly bulky and heavy. I really hope the look of the glass is great, because I fear that this will become a very large box.
