i strongly doubt something like this is going to get off the ground, they cant give the apartments away in port adelaide and the property market is in the downward term of the cycle

In terms of timing the market, now would be a good time to start construction.

Probably as it's the Port, and no one feels like spending three quarters of a mill on an townhouse at the port. Not sure who's to blame for that, the developers? the council? the state gov? I mean they are trying.. afterall that's what the electrification of the train to port and running trams to port is all about isn't it? Selling more apartments at the port?

Can anyone confirm that there is a rather large temporary crane on the spire site slightly taller then Rondavous Allegra? I can see it from my office in Optus building.
Upon closer examination it looks more like its next to rondavous?

I drove past Franklin Street on my way to lunch. And yes there was a temporary crane in the vicinity of the Spire site, but it did not appear to be related to Spire. The crane was located on the western side on Bentham Street, more likely on the northern aspects of the 42-56 Franklin Street site.

This is almost certainly NOT going to start on the expected date of 15/05/2009. No building application has been lodged and it can take several months to approve depending on the council and the detials provided. For example an application was lodged to demolish the buildings on 379 King William St in January and it is still being assesed by council.
This is a poor example of how to run a successful development.

I lost faith in this one a few years ago. It simply has been delayed so many times.
Sure it may happen one day but who knows when or in what form. Every time a new date for construction is released I just think well lets wait and see on the actual day.
Maybe this year, maybe next, maybe after, who the hell knows.

Another poor marketing campaign. The FHOG is actually $21,000 for new homes or $25,000 including the additional $4,000 from the state government. It is also very ambiguous do you recieve the full first home owner grant of $25,000 plus an additional $21,000 from the developer?? I assume if this is the case they have simply increased the prices by this amount or more. I really don't like the tactics they have used to try and sell these apartments. Maybe a display centre with professional and accurate material would be more successful?

A bit of grammar wouldn't go astray either.

To tell you the honest truth, I don't care how this mob sells these apartments, I just want it to be built!
