DC, of course.
The surprising thing is that the government have entirely the wrong reservations about it. It's a fairly well tested technology - just an expensive one that would bring no advantage to Adelaide.

Found this photo, by Jack Daniel off SSC. The tram in the photo is similar, if not the exact model that the Government recently purchased from Madrid.
Gives a good idea of what they'll look like in Adelaide, since I'd imagine they'd also be covering them up in Adelaide Metro livery with the yellow fronts.

Also looks a lot like Rundle Mall, so that idea is possible anyway, whether its a good idea is another matter.

Shuz: The Madrid trams have a narrower body than the C2's in Melbourne, and a slightly different nose. Other than that, as far as I can tell they're the same.
Is there much work going on at the Port Road bridge over the river? Is it going to be widened?

Not too sure on that one, they haven't done much work in that area yet.

Went past on the weekend, didn't notice anything major. A few extra road barriers here and there, and more orange flags. I couldn't tell what state the tram bridge on Port Road was in, can't see anything.

Thanks Will. This just goes to show all the preparation work that has to be done whenever a road surface is realigned.

Notice how the streetlights are still in the medium strip as well, the first sign of the tram line itself being started on would be removal of those light poles. Still an awful lot of footpath to remove before that happens.

ETSA were on site near the intersection of Adams St and Port Road last night - not too sure what they were doing though but something with the streetlights up that end in the median strip.

I found this update on the DTEI website which will provide some extra details about where construction work is currently at on the extension.

Current Work:
Road Widening
Road widening to allow for the installation of tram tracks along the centre of Port Road will commence mid July 2009 at and around the following intersections:
• Port Road and Light Terrace
• Port Road and Smith Street
• Port Road and Phillips Street
• Phillips Street and Walsh Street
• Smith Street and Walsh Street
These works will result in traffic restrictions, including lane closures and speed restrictions.
From September, track works will begin in the Port Road median. From this time, the right turn movement to and from Smith Street will be permanently removed to ensure the safety of motorists and patrons on the future light rail service. All other movements at Light Terrace and Phillips Street will be retained, with short term restrictions in place as required during construction.
