thanks shuz, unfort hate to say it but 30 mil wouldnt get us a tram extention these days , prob double that, seems like we wouldnt even get a tin shed for 30 mil these days[Shuz] wrote:Northern Lights, that's what it was called.AdelaideAlive wrote:another feature of the riverbank, which would be unique and inexpensive would be to have those projection lights on all the buidlings,as they did with nth terrace last year or year before for the fringe or something, lights alive think they called it, looked great and had people strolling the terrace all night looking at them on those heritage buildings
I'm not happy with the way the extra $30m is being spent on 'carparking for the elite'. An extension of the tramline to Adelaide Oval could have been done for that same amount of money.

Regattas opened in the new building today.
[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre, Casino & Riverbank Developme
i went in for a drink on my way to AO for the T20 Big Bash game last night. Here's a pikkie. It was sparsely populated, but no surprise since noone has cause to even remotely wander past this location on their way to or from AO. Their signage is also pretty poor. It's a 2 level building. Ground floor is cafe/bar/restaurant - quite nice. Top floor is a function space for weddings, parties, biz events, etc. The outside area is great - lovely lawned area, heaps of seating options (cafe style table/chairs, low lounge style chairs, bar stools, etc. Very well done).Xaragmata wrote:Regattas opened in the new building today.
Now all we need is more foot traffic.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Could you re-post the link for the survey? I'm sure it must be somewhere in this huge thread, but I couldn't find it. Thanks.Matt wrote:Looks great, taste of what's to come.

Call for Riverbank unique ideas
THE State Government has called for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to revitalise Adelaide’s Riverbank precinct along the River Torrens.
The deadline for submissions is exactly one month, closing at 2pm on February 23.
Infrastructure Minister Patrick Conlon said the government was seeking “unique and innovative ideas”
“Over the past two years, the Riverbank Precinct has been the focus of a number of major development proposals which are either in the delivery stage or proposed,” Conlon said in a media statement this morning.
“There is a lot happening in this vibrant precinct – we have the Adelaide Oval redevelopment, the Adelaide Convention Centre expansion and many other projects on the cards.
“Projects like these allow us to offer young South Australians career and lifestyle options that will keep them in our state and also attract other skilled people.”
Conlon said he looked forward to the State Government and stakeholders, such as the Adelaide City Council and the Adelaide Festival Centre, working together to “capture the vision and principles” in the draft Master Plan released late last year.
“There is a wealth of potential within the precinct, in particular, the idea of a Festival Square featuring cafes, restaurants and commercial buildings, which will prove to be a popular place for the community to come together.”
