Just reading the mining thread is enough for me to believe this development will not be all that far off. Also read of more mining out near Ceduna (minieral sands rutile etc) that will shift the mineral sand centre to SA (in the Fin REview). Also in the Fin REview was an article on office vacancy rates and hotel development and occupancy rates - stated not much available - mineral boom will shift this. Demand for the likes of Currie St rising.

You can forget about this one going ahead. This building was first proposed nearly 18 months ago. If a company
/ government department was interested in this building then something would have happened by now.

Welcome to the internet, try to keep your double posting to a minimum

That's why we have proposed, approved and under construction status listed for projects. It's not rocket science!

The vision section deals with 'dream' projects. Most of the ones you listed will most likely go ahead.

Please try to stay on topic Nimby. If you've got any further news on this tower feel free to post.. this thread is reserved for new news regarding the currie street tower... questions about demand etc have been covered numerous times.

NIMBY23 wrote:Is it possible to have a separate section on this website called Dream Projects ??

This section can include pie in the sky projects that will never go ahead. It can include :

1) 123m tower for currie street.
2) Inner city stadium
3) Twin towers at Glenelg.
4) Latitude at Glenelg.
5) Rail link to west lakes.

Currently this website is diluted with dream projects and putting them in there own section will make
the site more realistic and practical.
Is this really because there is no interest in theses projects, or because you don't want them to go ahead because they represent a changing adelaide?

If that is your way of thinking then you obviously haven't got a clue in the world about financial markets, the property market or the construction industry. A new building is not an event, it is a process that can take years. The John Boyd backed office building in Sydney is only now about to commence construction after being proposed for several years. Even more extreme than that, there is a building in Shanghai that was proposed in 1996, but it has only just been completed in the past month.

I don't know what your agenda is exactly, but it seems to be driven by emotion or fear of some sort rather than proper thinking and acknowledging the facts.

You're an idiot, 18 months is nothing! Conservatory on Hindmarsh took three years before work took place and it's half the size of this.

Go troll elsewhere.

Thank you for gracing us with your expert opinion. :wank:
It was proposed 12 months ago and the amended design was approved less then 5 months ago....

The idea would have been around a little longer than 12 months, but regardless of how long it has taken NIMBY23, this project only needs a half decent tenant and it will go ahead.

Cheers

Can't leave response to this any longer!

Nimby23, I appreciate all have the right to express their opinions, but this one is an UNSUBSTANTIATED emotive statement with a wide reaching end in mind.

In my experience of valid discussion, EVIDENCE is the crux of the issue. Your post was 2 posts on from mine. I stated (from the evidence of the mining thread) that this building was more than likely to eventuate soon. What was your evidence?? Did you read that thread? Check index page,go to regional developments, mining .

I have been honoured with the company of these guys here on this site due to their overall credibility and research. Personally I have been closely following Adelaide CBD/rail dev't for 35 years through my own research as well and found it to match up with what is on this site. You'll go a long way to find better, more comprehensive and positive info on Adelaide and SA.

Before you make such bald statements, do your H/W and tell us about it then.
