Just talking with one of the project folks today - there are still working tenants in there (lots of lawyers, apparently), so lots of discussions about the concept of acceptable noise. From the pictures, I'd be more worried about whether you'd fall out of your office.

To be honest, it won't be that significant of a refurbishment unless there is some kind of a paint-job. Here's hoping for a proper effort.

What kind of paint job are people expecting/suggesting? Maybe white?

hawt.

A good question is what would look good?, I'm iffy on white or black. Though all over glass would be the best, but it looks like its to late for that.

They might tack on some aluminium cladding over the concrete. There's a quite tall building here in the Brisbane CBD that had that same awful stone concrete style, but now that it's been covered over with the cladding it looks very modern.

I think you are right Bulldozer. Some of the aluminium frames for the windows extend over the concrete which would suggest some sort of cladding. Plus I think the application referred to cladding treatments.

There's a black and white render of the new look tower in today's paper.

Nothing huge to write home about, the render showed the three level podium will be an all glass affair, and focused as a retail precinct.

Hard to make judgement though as it was a B&W render.

Yeah the black and white render doesn't look great. The glass podium looks really nice though. The rest of the building basically stays the same but hopefully with a new rendered surface.
