There is talk of this now . (The 'green shoot').This is partly however an artificial indicator - what happens when gov't funded bldg and infrastructure funding dries up? In the context of the world economy it seems to be somewhat more confusing - with evidence bothy ways.

Here's hoping Spire actually is built .

I wonder how much they've spent on planning fees now. This project must be a nice money earner for the council...

I can't believe how long this one has dragged on for, I'm starting to think there's something a little dodgy about this whole project though that could be completely unfounded.

Still I wonder if the proposed reduction in withholding tax to 7.5% by 2010 will mean we'll see more of these types of property investments in Australia and so Adelaide. It might get this one finally started!

Completely unfounded. THis project is being delayed due to lack of sales like every other large development in Adelaide and Australia. Its not too hard to see why.

It's like Radelaide said. Don't be discouraged, even though it looks crazy - it's still on.

From I know it's still on. Contractors have been signed up. From my understanding, the hold up has been with the banks being tighter with their lending.

I imagine a number of the people who signed up in the boom probably wouldn't be interested or even able to settle the deal now. Random withdrawals would be making the project even harder to get off the ground.

Sadly, At the moment Adelaide is all talk and no walk :(
First it begins with Spire Living, then 20-22 Currie St, what next?

You should hand over your credit card and bank account details, just in case!

I'm going to assume that you guys are just trolling, because it's a simple equation with skyscrapers and you can't possibly be that ignorant of it:

If you can't find tenants, then you wont get finance, then it doesn't get built.

That's not "Adelaide". That's the reality in most places where investors would like to see a return on their investment.
