In other news, this site has been sold. Might see a new proposal here soon?

We may finally see some action. The mandala group have bought the site and plastered a massive billboard on site advertising city living. I think it mentions the Rowland's but I see this as positive. This developer obviously has the cash.

I would hate to be the bearer of bad news but has been that way for some time ... Fingers crossed though .... Having budgeted projects and developers it would be unlikely much to happen in this corner as they are suffering the red tape blues.

Yeah that billboard has been there since the Mandala group started the Rowlands tower.

Still, they might own the site, it did get sold quite some time ago.

Whilst the site is for sale, the site is subject to a lease which will expire in 2019. Thus, even if this is sold to a developer, unlikely to see any action for several years.

Wow, what a mammoth of a thread this has been

I've always wondered about this site, took a while to realise this thread was about it, didn't think it would have so much history!

Dam lease :(

Without dragging up the dead, this site is now back on the market. The sign is aimed at the hotel market and mentions that there is no prescribed height limit for the area (I think the CASA ceiling is 195m from memory)

Does the 2019 lease that Will mentioned still apply though?

You bought the site and are planning a 195m tower?
We can dream.

I saw some people walk past the site this morning. One of them was carrying a bag.
