Also, found this little gem from Channel 9's YouTube account that aired yesterday.

Keep an ear out for Tom Koutsantonis' epic quote at the 0:53 mark.

Really Tom? Did you just say that? HAHAHA!

The last two shots look like they were taken south of the Grand Junction Road exit.

The images and video above seem to suggest the ultimate configuration is 4-lanes north of the Grand Junction Road exit and 3-lanes further south. The overall deck width from the areal shot at the northern end (CH9) is also interesting. That must be to tie in with the Northern Connector.

That ribbon cutting ceremony did appear somewhat modest for such a flagship project. Now I imagine the rush will be on to get the northbound carriageway completed and opened before March 15, hopefully with a little less confusion about the specific opening day.

Something I found odd, was when approaching the start of the superway coming off Salisbury Hwy onto the PREXY, the sign says "motorway", but at the end of the superway, it says "end expressway".

I'm guessing 14th of March.

South bound is only open for those exiting Salisbury Highway. The Port River Expressway exit is still closed.

Yeah I realized this when I went on today.

I got the video but I was called into work (gotta love overtime) so I'll try to upload it later tonight if I'm free
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

Here is the video of myself driving along the North-South Motorway, southbound carriageway, around 1:00PM today (Saturday).

WARNING, Audio may be quite loud..

And although not visible in the video, just before coming off the structure, you can quite clearly see the city.
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

Got to travell southbound on Friday after work. It is hard to take it all in on the first journey, but a couple of things I noticed.... the CBD is visible from quite a bit of the length and the views in general are impressive. Also, rather than a smooth gradual curve up to the highest point, it appears to flatten off a bit, then a final steeper curve over Grand Junction. Presume it is meant to be this way, but does give the feeling of an undulating, poorly engineered bridge. On a positive note though, even at the current 60kph it is so good to cruise through such a distance of the metro area, and once this is open at full speed, Adelaide motorists will be demanding such a standard of road for the entire length, so the pollies may find it harder to weasel out of futher upgrades in future.

Could it be to better tie in with the downward slope on Grand Junction road ramps ?

I tried viewing an earlier video render of the Superway to see if it was an intended design characteristic, but with a slight horizontal curve in bridge deck near that point, it was inconclusive at least to my untrained eyes.

Another video, this time during the evening. He didn't have much choice with the GPS navigation. He had to ignore it.

Something interesting from Infrastructure Australia's Infrastructure Priority List Update – December 2013.

http://www.infrastructureaustralia.gov. ... e-2013.pdf

Under the projects listed as having real potential is this,
South Rd Upgrade (SA: $1,670m)
The Torrens Road to River Torrens section is estimated to cost $896m (BCR 2.4), so what else is there to make up the rest of the spend ?

Darlington,

http://www.minister.infrastructure.gov. ... _2013.aspx

or Regency Road to Torrens Road ?

The Northern Connector is also noted in the above Infrastructure Priority List Dec update as a separate item with a BCR of 8.5 as noted by Shuz in the Northern Connector thread. It's also more advanced, being listed as threshold.
Northern Connector (SA; BCR 8.5; $1,104m)

The 1.6 billion dollars on the ia site is from super way to ashwin pde . Dpti needed a project to fund this time last year and labor would not commit1/2 the 1.6 billion over the 4 year estimates so they asked for a part of south road to be ready in time for last years. Budget and 20 million was given for this financial year 13/14.

Something VERY interesting I found on the Adelaide metro site. Showing the full Northern Connector/Salisbury Highway/North-South Motorway interchange. BUT the really interesting part is showing an interchange link to Churchill/Montague Road.
So it looks like a full 5 way freeway interchange.

That's OpenStreetMap - it's effectively the map equivalent of Wikipedia - anyone can add/delete/edit the map. Looking at the history, someone added those 3 days ago. Just like Wikipedia, treat any recent edits with a grain of salt.

I have seen a lot of homes demolished along the Torrens to Torrens section and am wondering if any body knows how many properties the govt has left to purchase [even percentage wise] and if any are facing forced resumptions?
Also if or when any decision will be made on the actual construction. I know its reliant on Federal funding but surely something is going on behind the scenes for either this or Darlington to proceed in the near future?
If its a stalemate [as it appears] would a toll road [or private funding] be the only alternative?
